Got a question?
The average wage in Australia is 30% above the world average, and weekly earnings for allied health professionals, are significantly higher again, so you can expect a comfortable salary that provides you with financial stability. Your individual pay will be dependent on the years of experience you have and the role you’re applying for. In addition to your salary, in Australia your employer also provides you with ‘superannuation’, ‘super’ for short. This is currently 10.5% on top of your base salary that is put into a pension fund. By joining WorkFocus you will also have access to our extensive employee benefits package, which includes paid parental leave, car allowance, salary sacrificing (tax benefits), financial incentives program and much more!
Depending on your circumstances we will provide comprehensive travel or relocation assistance, in addition to financial support to help you get settled in your new location or make your travel dreams a reality! If you have a family, we will cover expenses as part of a family package. The level of assistance that you will receive will be confirmed individually by our international support team.
Qualified health professionals are in huge demand in Australia and there are a number of visa options available depending on whether you’re planning a temporary or permanent visit. Our parent company, MedHealth, is an accredited sponsor for international candidates wanting to apply for the Temporary Skills Shortage Visa, subclass 482, this visa provides a 2 or 4 year working visa, and if you’re eligible the opportunity to apply for permanent residency. Depending on your circumstances we also can accept candidates on the Working Holiday Visa, subclass 417. To discuss your visa options further we recommend submitting your details at the end of this page and our international support team will be in contact.
To work as an allied health professional or Rehabilitation Consultant in Australia you will need to get your qualifications and experience accredited. Depending on your degree discipline you will need to get accreditation through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), the Rehabilitation Counselling Association of Australasia (RCAA) or the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC). The process may have a number of steps depending on your discipline, our international support team will guide and assist you through this accreditation process, and answer any of your questions.
With so many locations to choose from at WorkFocus, you can see Australia whilst you work! If you have your heart set on one particular location, we likely have a branch there. However, if you want to see as much of Australia as possible, especially if you’re on a Working Holiday Visa, we can construct a unique program of deployments specific to your experience so that you can work from multiple locations and truly experience what Australia has to offer, whilst also earning a competitive salary! For example, you might want to start for six months in one of Australia’s major cities like Sydney, Melbourne or Perth, and then explore a more tropical region such as the Sunshine Coast or Darwin for nine months, and then finish up in the stunning mountainous terrain of Tasmania for another six months! Whatever you’re looking for in your ‘down under’ dream we can customise an experience to you.
