Taking a proactive approach to the prevention of workplace illness and injury

In relation to injury or illness, prevention remains far better than cure

Our Injury Prevention and Wellbeing services are geared toward maximising a healthy workforce and reducing the incidence of workplace injury. We encourage employers to take a proactive approach to wellbeing and safety in the workplace via our suite of prevention services, including:

To support Injury Management programs or Pre-Employment Screening programs, we create manuals detailing task descriptions and identifying physical demands and environmental considerations of normal and alternative duties. We also provide recommendations for identified injuries, photographic representation and sample letters to doctors.

An assessment of all risks and the magnitude of each risk a worker is exposed to in the workplace.

Working closely with employers, we deliver generic or customised workforce training packages that minimise the risk of exacerbation to injury or new injury. Employees learn the principles of how their body works and how to identify risk areas in tasks undertaken in the workplace.

This involves the screening of potential or current employees to determine their ability to complete the prospective/relevant role and their risk of injury. Completed by an Exercise Physiologist, Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist, this service ensures that prospective employees are physically suited to the physical demands of the role.

This uncovers an employee’s capacity for work in relation to specific duties. Ideally completed onsite using tools of the trade to match the physical requirements of a particular role (ie the pre-injury role, suitable duties or an alternative).

Workstation assessments with key recommendations to maximise comfort and efficiency and reduce risk of injuries.

As part of our partnership with Be Active Health Solutions, dedicated Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists can provide individualised healthy lifestyle assessment and programs to improve the health of your workforce.

WorkFocus Australia is able to provide services to assist with the design and implementation of injury management programs. Alternatively, we are able to provide short term resources to assist in leave relief or recruitment of permanent resources.
